Regenerative Neighborhood Development
Chicago's Sweet Water Foundation practices Regenerative Neighborhood Development, a regenerative social justice method, creating safe and inspiring spaces and curating healthy, intergenerational communities. By engaging youth and families, Sweet Water Foundation is combining neighborhood building projects with cultural events (like puppet shows!) and growing (and then serving!) food on more than three acres of land over four contiguous city blocks. This is transforming vacant spaces and abandoned buildings into economically and ecologically productive spaces. Their tag line "there grows the neighborhood" says it all.
